Blue Jay Flute with Acorn and Oak Leaves

This flute has a very detailed carving of a blue jay. This blue jay is holding an acorn made from elderberry wood in its beak . The bark on the acorn was left on to give it some character. My wife has brought this little bird to life with her painting. I have inserted glass eyes and carved detailed feathers to give it that realistic look. The totem is made from poplar. Along the top and bottom of the flute are relief carvings of oak leaves. The flute itself is made from white pine. If you would like a flute like this the price would start at $200.00. Meet the Artist

Woodcarving has been a passion for me for several years.  I have always enjoyed the outdoors.  Spending time with my family is one of the greatest joys of my life.  As a family we enjoy many fishing trips catching catfish on the Bear River.  Sometimes fitting in a camping trip here and there to Strawberry Reservoir.  I like carving wildlife, because it brings me closer to the great outdoors.

One day with my wife, I heard the most incredible sound.  A Native American musican was playing a flute.  After hearing this magical sound I was hooked.  This instrument unleashes your soul and gives peace to all who hears it.
